Refreshing Cherry Water
In the heat of summer, I often notice that people tend to forget that water doesn’t necessarily need to be consumed as just… well… water. There are an infinite number of possibilities that you can create in your kitchen in literally minutes!
Ingredients
  • 3Cups WaterRoom temperature
  • 5 CherriesRinsed & pitted
  • 3Leaves MintRinsed & torn
  • 1Slice Lemon(preferably use a Meyer lemon if available in your market) Seeds removed
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a container (I prefer to use glass) and take some sort of kitchen tool (I use a bulky heavy-duty plastic cooking spoon) to smash the ingredients together in the water so that they’ll begin to release their yumminess. Think mortar and pestle style! Allow mixture to sit for 10 to 15 minutes so that the water takes on the taste of it’s new friends. You could obviously place it in the fridge to chill or just leave out on the counter. Refill with water as needed!
  2. If you’re making a larger pitcher, I’d suggest doubling the ingredients and then use your judgement as far as the final taste is concerned. You can always add more of whatever you feel would increase the tastiness of this refreshing summer drink!
  3. If you need a bit more sweetness, you can certainly add a bit of stevia.
